Rooted in nature. Made for living.
Our Story
Lake & Grain Flooring Co. was born from a love of lake-house living and a deep respect for natural materials. Based in Chicago and inspired by the quiet beauty of the water and the architecture around it, we create floors that bring warmth, character, and enduring quality into the homes where life happens.
From the first board to the final finish, our process is guided by craftsmanship, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

How We Work
How we work
Consultation
We start in your home or our showroom, look at your light, your rooms, and how you actually live in them.
Selection
We bring samples to you and narrow the field together until the right floor is obvious.
Design & Detailing
We refine the layout, pattern, and finish so the floor feels inseparable from the architecture of the room.
Aftercare
We walk the finished floor with you and leave you with a simple plan to keep it looking this way.
Inspiration
Spaces we've designed, floors that ground them.
Every project starts with the architecture of the room, the light that moves through it, and the way a family actually lives. We design floors that feel like they were always meant to be there.
Chicago, Illinois
The city is the reason the work looks like this.
