Hardwood Floors

Solid and engineered hardwood, selected board by board and installed by our own crews. A hardwood floor laid well is the one part of a home that only gets better with the decades.

Why homeowners choose it

What Hardwood Flooring Does Well

Built to be refinished

Solid and thick-wear engineered floors can be sanded and refinished, so a scuffed floor becomes a new one instead of a landfill delivery.

Warmth that reads instantly

Real grain, real color variation, real depth. No print layer repeats itself across your living room.

Installed by our own crew

Subfloor prep, moisture readings, layout, racking, and finish are all handled by the same team, start to finish.

Value that stays

Well-installed hardwood is one of the few finishes buyers still notice and pay for years after it goes in.

Styles we carry

Options for Every Room

  • Wide plank oak

Seven-inch boards in warm natural or pale white oak — the quiet, open look most Chicago homes ask for.

  • Walnut and hickory

Deeper tones and stronger character for rooms that want weight and warmth.

  • Herringbone and chevron

Classic parquet patterns, laid the way the city's older houses were laid.

  • Solid, refinishable maple

Tight creamy grain in solid stock, sandable again and again over a lifetime.

How the Work Goes

  1. 01

    In-home consultation

We bring a considered set of samples to your home and look at them in your own light.

  2. 02

    Measure and moisture check

We measure every room and check subfloor moisture before a single board is ordered.

  3. 03

    Acclimation and prep

Material rests in the home, and the subfloor is flattened and cleaned before install day.

  4. 04

    Install and finish

Racked, fastened, trimmed, and finished by our crew — then walked room by room with you.

Common questions

Good to Know

Solid or engineered?
Both are real wood on the surface. Engineered is more stable over concrete and in below-grade rooms; solid is the traditional choice on wood subfloors above grade. We recommend based on your subfloor, not on stock.
Can you match existing floors?
Often, yes. We look at species, width, and finish and tell you honestly whether a match, a feathered transition, or a full refinish will read better.
How long does an install take?
Most homes are a few days of work, plus prep and acclimation time. We give you a firm schedule after the in-home measure.
