Laminate

A tough, budget-conscious floor with a convincing wood look. Modern laminate wears hard, installs cleanly, and — installed properly over the right underlayment — reads far better than its price suggests.

Why homeowners choose it

What Laminate Does Well

Scratch resistance

The wear layer on quality laminate is one of the hardest surfaces we install — good news for dogs and dining chairs.

Budget that stretches

Laminate lets you cover more rooms in one project without dropping to a floor you'll regret.

Convincing visuals

Embossed-in-register texture follows the printed grain, so the surface feels like wood, not paper.

Clean, quick installation

Floating installation over underlayment means less dust and a faster return to normal life.

Styles we carry

Options for Every Room

  • Oak-look plank

Warm natural oak visuals that sit comfortably with most Chicago interiors.

  • Wide and long boards

Larger formats with fewer repeats for a calmer, more convincing floor.

  • Water-resistant lines

Sealed-edge laminate suited to kitchens and entryways.

  • Matte, low-sheen finishes

Low gloss hides dust and reads far more like real wood than shiny older laminate.

Common questions

Good to Know

How is laminate different from LVP?
Laminate has a wood-fiber core with a printed, very hard wear surface. LVP has a waterproof plastic core. Laminate usually resists scratches better; LVP handles standing water better.
Is laminate okay in a kitchen?
Water-resistant laminate can work well in a kitchen. For basements or full baths we'd steer you to LVP or tile instead.
Does it sound hollow?
Not when it's installed over a proper underlayment on a flat subfloor. Most hollow-sounding laminate is an installation problem, not a product problem.
